What Membership means

Joining Ham & High BNI is fun and provides a great start to one working day each week - but it is also a commitment. Make that commitment - as everyone else in the group has - and you'll contribute to the energy that makes business networking a success. Your weekly Ham & High BNI meeting is not something you turn up to just when you feel like it.

The Ham & High BNI chapter at 7 a.m. every Tuesday. All members are asked to attend every meeting or find a substitute - through BNI's suibstitute programme if necessary - for holidays and other occasions when you just can't make it. At every meeting you make a 60 second presentation on your business and the specific type of work you are looking for.

Who runs Hampstead and Highgate Business Networking Group?

Ham & High BNI is run by its leadership team - but don't get the idea that these are a stand-offish elite group. The leadership team - Director, Membership Co-Ordinator and Secretary/Treasurer - are ordinary members and serve for just six months each. This is what they do:

Director

Runs the weekly meeting, following an agenda that has been tried and tested in literally thousands of BNI groups around the world.

Membership Co-Ordinator

Keeps attendance and referral records and reports back to the meeting every week. Also chairs the Membership Committee, which meets once a month to consider general membership issues.

Secretary/Treasurer

Controls the group's finances and bank accounts and also organises the roster of members to make a special 10 minute presentation on their business each week.

In addition to these three key posts the group also has two Visitor Hosts, who are responsible for getting to the meeting venue early each week to make sure it is ready and to welcome visitors, and at least two members of the Membership Committee.
